Weekends are a wonderful opportunity to catch up on your Zzz’s, energize, rejuvenate, forget about work and simply rest and play because before you know it Monday will have arrived. And, oh those Monday blues start again.

Here are some ideas for getting your week off to an awesome start:

1. Keep your alarm clock away from the bed: Okay so you have an early morning meeting and you have to be in the office for a 8:00 am. You set your alarm for 6:15 am only to hit the snooze button 6 times before jumping out of bed at 8:00am in a panic. Does this scenario sound familiar to you? If so, move your alarm clock away from the bed. This actually forces you to get up.

2. Ensure that you energize yourself:  Okay I know you don’t have time.  Well neither do I, but even an apple, breakfast bar or a banana when you are on the go is better than nothing. If you have time to stand at the line up at the local coffee shop than you have time to grab these items off the kitchen table before you go.

3. Make a to do list: The first thing I do Monday morning on my Samsung Galaxy is make a to-do list for the week.  Regardless if you are an Android or iPhone user, technology is the way to go to ensure you don’t forget important stuff.  This list allows me to plan my day and keep track of accomplishments.

4. Arrive early to work: I know you are probably saying right now, “Are you kidding me”? By getting in at least 30 minutes early you are able to get a jumpstart on your day.  If you are a commuter, those extra minutes may get you ahead of traffic.  Perhaps by an early start you get to leave a little earlier.
